13:15
وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًۭا وَكَرْهًۭا وَظِلَـٰلُهُم بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْـَٔاصَالِ ۩ ١٥
And unto Allah falleth prostrate whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, as do their shadows in the morning and the evening hours.
And to Allah prostrates whoever is within the heavens and the earth, willingly or by compulsion, and their shadows [as well] in the mornings and the afternoons.
All that is in the heavens and the earth prostrates itself, whether willingly or by force, before Allah; and so do their shadows in the morning and in the evening.
يُخْبِرُ تَعَالَى عَنْ عَظْمَتِهِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ الَّذِي قَهَرَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ، وَدَانَ لَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ. وَلِهَذَا يسجُد لَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ طَوْعًا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَكَرْهَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، ﴿وَظِلالُهُمْ بِالْغُدُوِّ﴾ أَيِ: البُكر [[في أ: بالبكرات".]] وَالْآصَالِ، وَهُوَ جَمْعُ أَصِيلٍ وَهُوَ آخِرُ النَّهَارِ، كَمَا قَالَ تَعَالَى: ﴿أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلالُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَائِلِ سُجَّدًا لِلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ﴾ [النَّحْلِ: ٤٨] .

Summary
This Surah takes its name from the word (ar-Ra'ad) (thunder) that occurs in v. 13. It is merely the symbolic name of the Surah and does not in any way mean that the Surah deals with the scientific problems connected with thunder.
